Biographical history

Jane Elisabeth Daintry Easterbrook (1942-2017) was a wife and mother living in Elora, Ontario with her husband Ian Easterbrook. Jane Elisabeth's life-long love of theatre and the arts is reflected in her career path, which took her from theatrical productions to the BBC, University of Guelph Drama Department, and CBC Toronto.

Jane Elisabeth was born in Windsor, England on April 27, 1942 to Richard and Barbara Smerdon. She was educated at Sherborne School for Girls in Dorset, England. Jane Elisabeth pursued a career in theater, performing and working backstage as Elisabeth Dunbar, and then with BBC Television.

In 1968 she married Ian Easterbrook and they moved to Canada where she was a sessional lecturer with the University of Guelph Drama Department. After raising their two children, Jane Elisabeth worked at CBC Television in Toronto, followed by positions as House Mother at colleges in Canada, England and Italy. Back in Canada, she worked in insurance and financial services with Andrew Johnson & Associates, and Critters and Castles pet and home care.

Jane Elizabeth Easterbrook died in Fergus, Ontario on February 21, 2017.
