Name of creator
Wilfrid Laurier University Women's Association (1960-1993) was a social group for the wives of faculty members, and female faculty and administrators, of Waterloo Lutheran University (now Wilfrid Laurier University) in Waterloo, Ontario.
The group was established as the Faculty Wives of Waterloo Lutheran University. The purpose of the organization was to welcome new faculty members' wives, to encourage them to participate in the community and the University, and to provide social and cultural activities. Membership was open to the wives of instructors and administrative officers. The wives of Presidents and Deans were invited to be honorary members. The constitution of the Faculty Wives of Waterloo Lutheran University was approved by the Waterloo Lutheran University Board of Governors on November 19, 1962.
Later the organization name changed to Waterloo Lutheran University Women's Association, and in 1973 it became Wilfrid Laurier University Women's Association. Although the Association disband in 1993, the TNT Interest Group continued to meet.
