The series contains source material on the Canada District of the Lutheran Free Church from 1917 to 1962. It consists of correspondence, constitutions and bylaws, minutes, reports, handbooks and presented papers, documenting the activities of the Canada District of the Lutheran Free Church.
Finding its roots in Norway's Revival Movement, the Lutheran Free Church began its work in Canada in 1895. Spearheaded by Reverend Christian Sangstad and eighty Norwegians from Minnesota, the Ausburg congregation was established in Bella Coola, British Columbia. From British Columbia, the Lutheran Free Church spread to the prairie provinces at the beginning of the twentieth century.
