Biographical history

George Priddle (1938-1998) was a professor of geography in Waterloo, Ontario. He received his BA from the University of Western Ontario in 1962, and his MA and PhD from Clark University, Worcester, Mass. in 1964 and 1972 respectively. In 1965 he was employed by Waterloo Lutheran University as lecturer in the Department of Geography and Planning, and in 1969 by the University of Waterloo as assistant professor in the Department of Geography. He was the founding chairperson of the Ontario Provincial Parks Council and served in the capacity as chair until 1979. He was also the chairperson for two terms in the Department of Man and Environment Studies, now Environment and Resource Studies. In 1996 he retired from the University of Waterloo. His research interests included park management, forestry, waste management, and greenways.
