The records, dating from 1974 to 1986, are largely from the desk of H. Eidsvik (Senior Policy Advisor, Program Policy Group, Parks Canada), and include meeting minutes, correspondence, publications and other material related to the creation of Canada/MAB and its connection to Parks Canada. In this time period the Mont St.-Hilaire Biosphere Reserve Waterton Lakes Biosphere Reserve were established.

The Biosphere Reserve Working Group was created in 1980 with George Francis as chair.
