Administrative history

Bethel Lutheran Church in Star City (also referred to as South Star), Saskatchewan was founded by Norwegian settlers in 1905. A one-storey, Gothic Revival style wood-frame church constructed in 1916. There are approximately 216 burials in Bethel Lutheran Cemetery, the first taking place in 1912.

The church was used by the congregation until 1971. In 1994 the church building and land became The Bethel Historical Site, a Municipal Heritage Property located within the Rural Municipality of Morris No. 312, approximately 15 kilometres southwest of the Village of Young.
